WHITEWASHING THE HEN HOUSE – RUG HOOKING PRIMITIVE SUNFLOWERS CHICKEN SUPPLIES

Hello

WHITE WASHING THE HEN HOUSE

Today I decided to whitewash the hen-house.  I thought it would be an easy thing to do.  Well it’s not quite as easy as I thought.  Mixing the lime and water takes quite a while and I still didn’t get it smooth. I think I got half of it done today and will try to finish the rest this week.  The thing I like about it as with a paintbrush you can get into all the cracks and it seals it from insects.  The cost of this is quite low and there is no smell at all.  I did wear a mask and gloves.  I remember my Grandfather in Maryland whitewashing  .

RUG HOOKING PRIMITIVE SUNFLOWERS

I love hooking these and have sold many in the past.  They are time-consuming but worth it.  I do add some spices before I sew the backing on.  They are a combination of regular hooking and proddy hooking.  The hook in the ppicture is hand carved by my friend Mary Jane Peabody.  I find that her hooks work better than any other for proddy and they are from her local woods in New Hampshire.  She has a blog called  Mary Jane’s Rugs, check it out.

I hope to have all 8 of them done tomorrow.

THE BEST PLACE TO BUY CHICKEN FEEDERS

I have found the best place to purchase chicken feeders is on E-BAY.  I just type in chicken feeders or antique chicken feeders and there is always some there.  I like the older ones best as they are always unique.  Most times you can purchase them for way below what you can buy them for at your local farm store and they are made so much better.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and I hope you have a wonderful day.
