GREETINGS
THE HEAT IS GONE
Violent thunderstorms and torrential rains were suppose to come last night as the humidity left and cooler air came in. The clouds sure looked like that was going to happen.
We did get some mild thunder and lightning and some rain but that was it. We were spared for the second night in a row. I am enjoying the cooler weather and will do so for another couple of days before the another bout of humidity comes.
OTHER ATTIC FINDS
Today I found a few things. Some post cards of Holyoke from the 40’s. These were sent from my Dad while he was in China to his bride to be.
They described Holyoke which my Mother had never seen and where she would live a good part of her life.
The roasting pan belonged to my Grandmother who passed away before my Mom and Dad were married. As a child I remember the wonderful meals that were cooked in that pan.
MINNIE’S VISIT
She certainly doesn’t like going to the Vets. It was a quick visit today just having a blood draw and thats more than enough for little Minnie. Her weight has dropped from 6.4 pounds to 6.2 pounds in spite of my efforts to get her to eat and drink. She now drinks out of water glasses and is not interested in cat dishes at all. Her test came out good so she does not need to go back for three months. I hope I can increase her weight some before she goes back. Coming home from the vet’s there was a lone baby Canadian Goose crossing the road.
A RARE SPOTTING
Yesterday afternoon I went to pick up 5 bales of hay at Joe’s. I was almost at his house when I passed a stone cellar hole where a house once stood and there was a coyote. I thought it was a wolf but came home and looked it up on the internet and it was a coyote. It was a beautiful regal creature one that I wouldn’t like to see near my house although I know there are some on the range across from me. No pictures by the time I turned my camera on it was gone.
Many thanks for reading my blog on this delightful day. Carole
