HELLO
A LIGHT IN THE BARN WINDOW
Last night I put a light in the barn window. When I first started my blog I was looking for something to call it and was going to call it Through The Barn WIndow. The window is near the tallest part of this old post and beam barn. It looks out to the western sky past my neighbors Hemlock tree. In the winter snow glistening off the tree and the dark blue sky littered with starts is wonderful. Summertime brings a different view with purple, crimson, orange and yellow gold sunsets. I look up and out of it everyday. It’s a peaceful time in this busy life, time to just enjoy the beauty and hear the sounds of the sheep and Elliott happily munching away at hay and carrots.
THE CHICKENS
Today I tried everything to get Mrs. Brown to eat, I think that the antibiotic’s kicked in because she is eating now and her eye is open and looks a lot less inflamed. She heard Hazel making a ruckus like he does when he has something good to eat, calling the girls so she tried some of hers. Yea.
SHEEP
I keep two chairs upstairs where the hay it. I love sitting there listen to the sounds of the sheep. The barn smells of a mix of wool and hay.
EGGS
Today was a banner day 4 beautiful eggs. I am so happy to have my own eggs again, nothing like eggs fresh from your own hens.
BLACK WALNUTS
The black walnuts are finally dried. I have already made two batches of dye with them and there are many more batches left in them. Gary picked them up on his daily walks while he was here. I also have a batch already made in the freezer.
Many thanks for reading my blog today and I hope you have a wonderful day. Carole
