BACK TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING-SAMMY AND YARN BOMBING- SHEARING DAY

HAPPYIMG_4804GREETINGS

I have been under the weather for the better part of a month.  First with a torn muscle in my arm and then I got the flu again!  This flu is like no other and is spreading around the area like wild fire.  It last for approximately 3 weeks with debilitating symptoms.

During the bout with the flu i encountered problems with my bad knee and could hardly walk on it. After another visit to the doctors it left us both questioning if this was lymes disease which is a possibility or the joint wearing out or an infection in the knee itself.   I do have inflammation in my knee at all times and with some of the tests coming back good it seems that may have been the culprit.  I am taking a new inflammation herbal treatment and hope that will help reduce this problem.  The lymes test has not come back yet but this Test always comes back negative on me  I have asked my doctor to do a more specific test

It will take some time for me to get back to my old self.  Thanks to family and wonderful friends for keeping the farm going. keeping me cheered and dropping off goodies.

While I was so sick Sammy had a wonderful time yarn bombing the whole house.  There is yarn from from upstairs to downstairs, around the dining room table and chairs and into the living room and back up stairs.  It will take me days to get it all wound up again. He had a wonderFul time.

SNOW IS ALMOST GONE

The snow is almost gone with little coming into the barn this winter.  Thanks to a slow melt all went well.  We will be seeing temps in the 50’s and 60’s during the day this week.

SHEARING  DAY

I have called Steve and he will call me the beginning of next week to set up a time when Chris can help him.  It will be complicated this year with Elliott so we may do it in the hay area.  I a glad that I didn’t get around to getting it done at my usual time mid March.  We still had plenty of cold and snow then.

lots of wonderful eggs

Thanks for reading my blog and the well wishes, I hope you are all well.  Carole

Thank you Cynthia,
every day I am feeling better and getting a little more done. Being so sick makes one appreciate good health.

Sammy sounds such a scamp!! I do hope they can get to the bottom of your knee trouble. Some things aren’t easy to diagnose, I know lupus for example can present similar symptoms to Lyme disease. Hopefully some nice spring weather will pick you up a bit :-). Sharon x

Sharon,
Sammy is such a great cat started off his lie as a reject and sickly boy. He is loved and admired here and he is now well and happy. As much work as it is picking up I know how much fun he had so its worth it. I am a little better each day. SOme tests are still pending. Not seeing snow in the woods is a good pick me up. Thank you

Glad you are feeling better. This flu sounds horrendous. I feel like crying, “Back thee, Satan!” and popping a few echinacea! Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t pay for good Lyme tests. The usual Western blot test has too many false reads for my book. If you can afford it, I recommend IGeneX out of Palo Alto, CA. It is important not to let it go untreated, advanced Lyme is nasty, but you already know that living here. Your eggs look so pretty, naturally colored for Easter. Had to laugh at the yarn bombing! 🙂

You so much for your kind thoughts Eliza, my limes test still has not come back I am going for the Western blot next and then I will have to save up the money and pay for the test that you recommended. There is an excellent limes the doctor in Worcester which I probably will go to the summer if my test to prove nothing. A friend just found out that she has lymes and already has I damage
I am feeling so much better but this flu does hang on.
Send me a still having fun yarn bombing I haven’t quite picked up all the yarn yet it is a funny boy.
Looks like the temps are finally getting back to springlike I’m so happy about that I saw a bit of a tulip poking up through the dirt. Yea spring

Hoping you get back to normal soon Carole, you will have to start taking life a bit easier, at our age the mind is willing but our bodies let us down.
