SMOKE FROM THE WOOD STOVE ON A COLD DAY

COLD TEMPS

Yesterday morning the temp went down to 10 below zero with wind chills -21 below.  All went well in the house no frozen pipes, I was very vigilant with the wood stove filling it through-out the night.  Today was in the teens the difference in temps was remarkable.

CAR CHECK-UP

My little car is so remarkable but it was over due for an oil change and I did want my fluids checked.    I am lucky to go to a place where its local and they care about all their customers.  And it doesn’t hurt that John, The Chicken Man works there.  New tires were need and she drives so much better with them on.

RUG HOOKING

I bought this pattern at The Maryland SHeep and Wool Festival over 15 years ago.  I started it and got half way done and put it away.  It was difficult to hook.  Now that I have been hooking for while I see why.  The burlap was so closely woven that it was hard to put a primitive hook through it.

I finished it and can really see how my hooking has changed over the years.

CLASSES AT SHEEP AND SHAWL

I plan to have 3 rug hooking classes and a spinning  and a  learn the drop spindle class this winter.  One of the hooking classes will be a choice of two chair pads .  I dyed the old woolen blanket and am hand cutting it.  I have not dyed the back ground color yet.   I will have progress updates.
