GREETINGS

It’s been overcast most of the day with threats of heavy rain and high winds.  Nothing so far.   I have dug ditches and hope the water will not enter the barn.  It got very humid very fast this morning and all my windows were covered with fog so was my camera!

SHEEP AND SHAWL SHOP

I haven’t been to the new shop since the reopening.  Liz has done a fantastic job with its inviting and now has a room for classes.

CLASS ROOM

Its full of all sorts of wonderful yarns from Scotland and new patterns, books and more.

There will be over 20 classes there this fall.  Check out her website , you might see a class you would like to take.  I am teaching Hooking a Primitive Sunflower, Learn the drop Spindle , Hooking with Yarn and Learn to spin on your Own Wheel.  Drop in and say Hello to Liz.  It’s never to early to start on your Christmas presents.

ABUNDANCE FROM THE GARDEN

I brought a basket up to the garden and filled it with Cucumbers.

I couldn’t believe how many I got, and there is probably more that I missed.  I also pulled the last radish and its huge.  I will put some of it in my pasta salad tonight.  Tomorrow I will be making pickles.  Usually I have had to buy the cukes but not this year.

WORK ON THE DAM

The dam near my house  was destroyed by the hurricane we had several years ago.  They are now rebuilding it and doing a great job.

THE SIDE YARD CHICKENS

Today was the first day that Rosie and Samantha were exposed to Hazel, Mrs. Brown, Morticia and Millie.  They will all live together during the winter months.  It certainly looked like they are getting along.  I am sure that Rosie and Samantha will be on the low end of the pecking order but having it settled now is fine.  They have spent the summer being able to watch them  so they are all familiar.  Millie and Morticia enjoyed taking a dirt bath together.
