CHEERY FLOWERS-WINDS AND COLD-NEXT WINTER’S HOOKING PROJECT

HELLO

CHEERY FLOWERS-WINDS AND COLD

The east window in the upstairs bathroom is a great room for plants during the winter.  It doesn’t get hot like the south bedroom and the plants bloom most of the winter.  They are a sight when the windows are all frosted up and the winds are howling.

The  rains stopped and no more water in the barn but a mess to clean out when the weather warms up.   We had a little snow and in the middle of the night I could feel the temps change.  Its windy with some flurries around but warmer weather is coming..

A HOOKING PROJECT

I bought this hooking pattern for $1.00 at the Grange Fair in Shelburne about 14 years ago.

I was going to get back into hooking again but I was taking care of my Dad and the farm and there was no time.  I think by fall I will have enough hooked pieces under my belt to start this one.  It will be my large winter hooking project.  Everytime I look at it I am happy.  I love pinecones , oak leaves and acorns..  Over the summer I will learn a few things about shading, I am not going wild over that but would like to do some shading and I will look for a cream woolen blanket to do the background.  I will look carefully at how people hook pinecones to get some ideas.  SOmething to look forward to.

Many thanks for reading my blog on this blustery night and I hope you will have a wonderful evening.  Carole
