SOCK KNITTING CLASS AT SHEEP AND SHAWL

HELLO

After a bone chilling day with winds the animals are settled in for the night.  Tomorrow temps in the 30’s with some snow showers then back to the deep freeze again.

SOCK KNITTING CLASS AT SHEEP AND SHAWL

I am teaching an easy sock knitting class at SHeep and SHawl in February.  It’s a 3 week class on Sundays from 1-2:30, on Feb. 2nd, 9th and 16th.    The pattern is quite easy and I have taught many people to make socks.  I was always afraid to make them, number one are those double-pointed needles, and then there is the heel.  Well I conquered the needles and as long as I just followed the directions even if they didn’t make sense to me it came out fine.  Quick and easy to make come join me in the class.  MOre information can be found on The Sheep and Shawl website IMG_2267

Both pattern and the finished sock will be on display at SHeep and Shawl

SEED SAVERS

The Irish Seed Saver site in Scarriff, County Claire has been threatened with closure if it can’t come up with the 250,000 Euros that has been taken away from their government funding.  My daughter and I have gone there twice and it well worth the visit.  They have classes throughout the year on things such as bee keeping, willow baskets, growing your own veggies etc.  This gem offers everyone a chance to learn how to grow their own fruit and veggies, and then save the seeds for the next year.  It is quite alarming that the government would cut such a vital program. saving seeds could save a country.

I didn’t make the nest today got caught up in other things, I hope I can make it tomorrow.

Hope you had a wonderful day and many thanks for reading my blog.   Carole
