MINNIE BISBEE-SWEET PEA &AND LOUISE-HOLIDAY DOOR SWAG

HELLO

MINNIE BISBEE

Minnie is still adjusting but is so much more relaxed and loving now and has even put  on a little weight.  She is a great cat and she does prove that adopting an older cat  is a great thing to do for yourself and the cat.  There are so many older cats waiting.

Sweet Pea and Louise should be laying eggs soon.

They have grown a lot and were luckily enough not to get that terrible respiratory disease that took Emma and almost took Hazel and Mrs. Brown.  I still would like to get another Buff Orpington and maybe another Easter Egger this spring..

HOLIDAY DOOR SWAG

IMG_1971

This holiday swag was made from things available to me mostly from my yard.  All it takes is to place the branches over lapping each other and going around with florist wire.  The lights are already on the door from the bittersweet swag so it is an easy change.  I have sort of planned the yard to include the things I like to decorate with, such as pussy willows, bittersweet, holly, and a wild-looking Christmas tree from the forest.  I still want to add some hemlocks, junipers and maybe a couple of Christmas trees in the coming years for decorating and for the birds.  I have tried both hemlock and juniper this past year but they were unsuccessful,   I think that they were planted too late in the season and didn’t have a good start before the heat came.  I think I will buy them locally and that will give them a good start.  I have planted some Winterberry 4 years ago and only one plant lived, it’s about 4 feet tall but no berries on it yet.

It’s a misty, damp day in the hills of Colrain, some icy mix may come through on Monday.  Winter is coming and we can expect weather like that.  Tonight I am taking a felted sheep ornament class.  I am looking forward to making a lot of them.  I hope wherever you are you have a wonderful day and thank you for reading my blog.

So pleased to have an update on Minnie, you hadn’t mentioned her for a while.
