The Heat

Yesterday was terrible here, temps at 100 with humidity in the 70 %.  Heat index way over 100.  It is suppose to be much cooler tomorrow, I can’t wait.  Hope we get some showers with that cool weather.

On Thursday night I spent the evening demonstrating drop spindle spinning at FUNK SHUN.  Every third Thursday all the shops are open and its like one big party.  Turners Falls is turning into one hip spot.  Christa had a busy night new people visiting her shop and many old customers checking in.  SHe had just finished doing over a two seat sofa which came out wonderful.  I am sure its sold by now as she posted it on Facebook and had many people come in to see it.  I forgot my camera and took pictures on my phone but I can’t find a way to transfer them.

Chris and I headed down to the festival.

It has changed some since I was there.  It was disappointing that there weren’t the clans that used to be there.  It is much more commercial.  The Springfield Weavers were there as they are every year.  It was a joy to see everyone.  I miss them all.  We were only there a couple of hours, the heat was intense and the sun was out.

After the festival we went to River Valley Market and got 2 bags of food scraps for the chickens.  They are really enjoying them.  The bags were pretty heavy but Chris managed to get them in the car.

ny thanks for reading my blog and I hope you have a lovely day.      Carole

“Every third Thursday all the shops are open and its like one big party.” The character and atmosphere of the place must be wonderful ! I love the old look of the buidings.
Imagine what it must have been wearing those woollen socks & skirts in the heat and humidity!!!
In Qc, the Scottish Festival is in August.
PS: would love to see Christa’s 2 seats sofa…keep it in camera until we meet in August.
