Hello,
Keeping the Socks Going
These socks have been used since ’93 or 94. Hand spun and the stripes were from our family cat Fluffy. I have repaired these socks many times and now they both need it
I am spinning some semi coarse yarn in hopes they last just a little longer.
These socks are my favorites, one because of Fluffy and the other is they are just plain comfortable.
HOT
Its another hot day today, day 10 of temps over 90, they say this will be the last day in the 90’s but the humidity will stay till Friday. I will be glad to say bye bye to that.
The hot weather has been good for the garden things are growing by leaps and bounds.
We may get some rain this afternoon which will help. Mulching heavily keeps me from watering, I only water the newly planted and they are heavily mulched now too.
The hot weather doesn’t stop egg laying. Mrs. Brown searched 3 nest boxes before finding the right one this morning.
Many thanks for taking the time to read my blog today. Hope your day is sparkling. Carole
OK, Carole,.Did you dip-dye Mrs. Brown for that great graduated white-to-brown speckled look???
I was wondering about that too… Mrs. Brown looks like a grand lady.
Louise
Spinning cat hair is something I am now going to have a go at!
Its not really that hard and it make a lovely addition to mittens, socks and hats. As you can see I am wearing the socks long after he is gone and everytime I wear them I feel his spirit around me.
How absolutely lovely!
