THE HOT WEATHER CONTINUES – SCREEN ON THE HEN HOUSE

2 06 2013

Hello,

The hot weather continues, with cooler temps coming.  Yesterday I had to put a screen on the front window of the hen-house.  Actually it was two screens, hardware cloth on the outside and regular screening on the inside.  I haven planted anything in the window box outside the hen-house window this year but picked up some plants today and hope to get them in soon. Last year some sort of animal used the window box to gain entry, and ate the hens food and a baby chick and a bantam hen.  I don’t want any repeats of that this year.

Planting Onions and putting up the fence

I hope to get the fence up in the back garden.  I am planning to grow my tomatoes  right near the long cattle panel and will tie them up on it.  Another panel will be used for all sorts of beans.  If I can get the fence up  tomorrow I can begin to plant the tomatoes.  I picked up 3 different kind of peppers and some more herbs and a few flowers for the flower box today.

Today I planted over 100 onion plants I still have lots more to plant.

Work on the drainage

The work  on the barn drainage will start this week.  It shouldn’t take too long. It will be good to have that over and done with.
