NEW ENGLAND FIBER FEST – MORTICIA – THE CHICKENS – SADIE

5 11 2012

HELLO

This morning Deb and I set out for the New England Fiber Fest located at Eastern States Expo in West Springfield, Ma.  It was the last day of the two-day show.   We were hoping to scope out the show for a possible vendor location for next year.

Is only 3 years old and shows take quite a while to build up a following.  It’s a show that we will definitely think about for next year.

There were lots of animals there and so much yarn.  Only 3 rug hooking booths so there is room for expansion there.  The booth that seemed to have the most business was The New England Felt Supply booth.  It was a double booth and filled with buyers.  I have never been there but a lot of my friends have and I plan a trip to Easthampton soon.

The first sheep we see were a pair of Border Leicesters.    My favorites.

Llamas were next

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE HEN HOUSE

Today was supposed to be moving day in the Hen House.  Unfortunately with going to the show I just didn’t get things ready.  Morticia just couldnt wait and I found her in with Murphy.  She had tried out the nesting boxes and decided that sleeping right next to Murph was the best thing.  The bigger hens have been picking on her and now she seems content.  She has been in with Murph on occasion so for her it’s a safe place.

HESTER AND HELEN

The two of them are cuddled up together in the nest box.  Nights are getting colder.

On our way home Deb and I stopped at a local farm stand near her house.  I purchased a huge cabbage for Sadie.  Deb, she loves Hadley cabbage.

Thanks for reading my block and hope you have a wonderful day.   Carole
