On Friday I went down to Home Depot to purchase a Martha Stewart cubical.  Its made out of compressed wood, I am not fond of items made from that but I have to get my fabric organized and needed something to put it in.  I did go to Strawberry Fields my closest antique shop and did a quick look around and found nothing suitable in my price range.    I  started putting it together on Saturday, having the whole thing almost complete, it collapsed and fell apart, the screws ripping the wood, the wooden dowel pieces breaking apart.  I was so upset.  I stopped at Strawberry Fields again and decided to take my time and look everywhere.  Lo and behold there outside was a large old bread rack on casters.  It’s all made of wooden dowels and I can stack the fabric on the dowels.  It was only $38.  It’s a lot sturdier than the Martha junk and was made when people took pride in their work.  Its stood the test of time for over 50 years and will give me many years of use.  I usually buy used when I can but this time I was in a hurry to get something so today its going back to Home Depot for a refund.  Lesson Learned.

Tomorrow morning I am planting my garlic, it may be the only chance I get to do it.  Wednesday I am gone for the entire day to Woolen Memories Hook-in at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield.  Debbie and I have been going for years.  Now our friend Mary Jane from N.H. is coming too.  We will see a lot of hooking friends there.  I am taking the Nubble Lighthouse rug to work on.  I am hoping to do the ocean while I am there, getting advice as I go along.  Back to the garlic.  I am planting it in back again but closer to the barn.    It needs to be planted in a different place every year.  When I first started planting it I put it in the same place year after year and found the bulbs got smaller and smaller.

Wednesday night into Thursday we are supposed to get another storm with snow expected.  If we get what is expected there will be no digging to plant garlic only digging out.

Today was Monday spinners and it was at Cynthia’s house.  I have included a picture of her wonderful Angora goats.  We celebrated my birthday with cake and song and  I got a present of beautiful dyed rovings and a gift certificate to Goldings.    I ordered the celtic sheep drop spindle in cherry wood.    It will be here in 2 days.  How wonderful.       Hope you have a wonderful day and many thanks for reading my blog.  Carole
