FARM TO FIBER-AMERICAN CHESTNUTS

23 09 2012

HELLO

Today was the Farm to Fiber open house for vendors.  Because the barn is divided into unusual spots it is better for vendors to see the space.  There was  a good number of vendors who came to visit and pick out the perfect spots for themselves.                                            They are leaving the wagon and we will use it for fleeces.  I can just see the barn filled up with fiber and people.  It will be a great event.

AMERICAN CHESTNUT TREE

The chestnuts in my son’s yard are dropping.  He decided to pay his step-sons 10 cents a piece for each one that they picked.  They surprised him and both picked 126.  He decided to offer them

a surprise or the money.  The boys both took the surprise, which were transformer cars that cost $5.00 each.    I think next time they will take the money.  They learned many valuable lessons from this venture.  They are learning about the AMERICAN CHESTNUT, keeping track of what they picked and the value of the money that they earned.    As you can see there are many more on the trees .

Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for reading my blog.                CAROLE
