DYEING WOOL HOOKING

4 08 2012

Hello

It’s going to be another hot day here in Colrain.  All the animals are fed and water refreshed and I have dyed part of an old blanket and a piece of wool cloth orange.

I used Cushing dyes, orange and a tiny amount of black.  I plan to use some of this blanket to make the backing for the pumpkin pillow.  I bought this patter around 2 years ago at a hook-in that Dorr had.  It is from Camp Wool.  I loved hooking it and only have a little more to do and plan to finish the hooking today.  She had another pillow hooked up in whites, off whites and grays.  I think that i might to that one too.  They would look nice on the sofa for the fall season

The small Piece will be used for small pumpkins which I plan to make and sell at the N.Y. SHeep Festival.                            I have also included a close-up of the swag.  It does look and smell nice.

Morticia (another Bantam hen) has joined Mrs. Brown sitting on the eggs.  Although she doesn’t take her job as seriously as Mrs. Brown and joins the other hens for time in the yard.

HAPPY DAY TO YOU
